My Yoga Philosophy
Many people are intimidated by the yoga pictures they see on social media...you know, the ones where people are tied up into little pretzels?! That may be THEIR journey, but that doesn't have to be YOURS. The #1 comment I hear from people when I mention yoga is..."I can't even touch my toes!" Here is what I want yogis in my classes to understand: There is no right or wrong path on your yoga journey. As long as you are working toward connecting your breath to movement, listening to your body, and doing what is right for you each day, YOU ARE A YOGI.
What To Expect
Bring your water and an open mind. I strive to create a safe place for you to move and love your body. Whether we are practicing in a studio, a coffeehouse, in a park, or a fire station, I will meet you on your mat and offer modifications and extensions that meet your individual needs.
Yoga for a Better Body Image.
Strengthening your mind-body connection helps you to be more satisfied with and grateful for your body.
Yoga for a Healthy Heart
Studies show that a regular practice can lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar.
Yoga for Weight Control
Mindfulness can make you more aware of your body and its cues.
Yoga for Mental Health
Yoga has been shown to fight depression and anxiety and can help you sleep better.
Yoga for Reduced Injury Risk
Yoga can strengthen bones and core muscles, improving balance and joint mobility, reducing your risk of injury.
Yoga for Overall Fitness
Yoga improves strength and flexibility, boosts endurance, and tunes up the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.
Group and Individual Yoga
Group yoga classes in a studio can be a very powerful experience. But, when we limit ourselves to that as our only option, we put boundaries on our blessings that can stem from mixing up our location and class dynamic.
I am available for 1:1 sessions, intimate small groups, and traditional classes. What do you have in mind? Do you crave personal instruction to advance your practice? Are you looking for a fun experience with a few friends? Or, would you rather immerse yourself in the energy of a larger class?
Why limit yourself to practicing in the studio? I would love to meet your group at your work, in the park, at the Denver Firefighters Museum, at Red Rocks, in your home...the possibilities are endless!
I can create a personalized experience for you and/or your group. Some ideas are a Yoga*Malas*Love experience, Yoga*Henna*Love session, mother-daughter dates, birthday parties, girls' nights, Faith-Based Yoga... The sky is the limit. If you can envision it, I can create it.
Crestone Women's Wellness Retreat 2020
Our retreat will officially begin at 5:00 pm on Thursday, June 11th and end at 11:00 am on Sunday, June 14th. You can meet us at the retreat, or we will be providing transportation to and from the Denver International Airport at no additional charge. Our shuttles will be leaving DIA at 1:00 pm on the 11th and will have you back by 3:00 pm on the 14th.
This adventure is a 4 day/3 night all-inclusive retreat for women who are craving to be nourished in mind, body, and spirit. We will spend the days journaling, exploring, doing yoga, hiking, and meditating. In the evenings, we will get to take in the Van Gogh-ish night skies as we sit outside and take in the beauty of our surroundings. All meals and snacks are included and will be custom created based on what is in season and available in our area.
We will be staying in a unique dome house about 12 minutes from Crestone city-center, nestled between the mountains of Sangre de Cristo Range and the Great Sand Dunes National Park.
